Our Jaunt to Paris for FoodShootr’s European Launch

From the food, to the foodie influencers, to the beautiful, warm spring weather, “Eatup Europe: Dinner Under the Stars” (cohosted by social food app FoodShootr and Chef Papa Serra from Barcelona) was exciting, fun and success.

As the event’s Media Sponsor, we had our work cut out for us — marketing, branding, gathering some of Paris’ most influential people in food, travel and tourism, and ensuring that social was abuzz with #EatupEurope updates. We had a great time engaging with influencers in food, fashion, design and art in Paris (and let’s just say that, as far as our founder Charlie Oliver is concerned, the trip was far too short!).

Chef Papa Serra flew in from Barcelona, FoodShootr’s founder flew in from Toronto, and we rolled into town straight from New York.

The invitation was a call for foodies and social mavens to come together for a unique experience and a fun evening to celebrate the launch of FoodShootr in Europe (the first of 10 social dining events across Europe).

Anna Wu-Chauvineau (food influencer, writer and founder of Paris for Epicureans) sums up the evening perfectly in her detailed recap of the evening:

“Last Saturday I went to a popup tasting dinner organized and prepared by Foodshootr and Chef Papa Serra Jr.  This was the first of a series of EatUp Europe dinners that will take place in other cities including Malmo, London, Berlin, Rome, Barcelona, etc.

The concept here is simple: foodies getting together over a chef-prepared meal.  Sounds simple enough right? Except you actually eat with people you don’t know!

What I also found FABULOUS [aside from the food] was the amazing EXPERIENCE of this memorable dinner…I met and mingled with soooooo many interesting people (all English-speaking) from all different backgrounds and of different professions, but with one thing in common: the passion for good food! 😀

Anna wasn’t the only one who had a great time, from innovative entrepreneurs like Abhinav Agarwal (founder of Iengagy), to fashionista and culture influencer, Typhaine Augusto (@typhaineaugusto), to renowned photographer Alexis Beaulieu (@pmgnt), and Fred and Amanda Pouillot (the legendary founders of Le Foodist), and more — a wonderful evening was had by all:

Technology is great, but nothing beats face-to-face connecting with interesting people doing amazing things!
